About the ADCIS Directory

The ADCIS Directory on CD-ROM can be installed onto personal computers to provide access to detailed information on a broad range of community, government and health services throughout the state of Tasmania in Australia.

The information in the Directory is primarily designed to help anyone in the community, including family members, service providers and health professionals find out about services that can assist either aged people, people with disabilities or carers (often referred to as the Home and Community Care (HACC) target groups). The types of services listed include:

  • health and support services
  • social and recreational services
  • educational facilities and opportunities
  • transport services and options
  • government services and benefits
  • accommodation/respite options
  • assessment and rehabilitation, and
  • emergency services

The CD-ROM version of the ADCIS Directory will primarily be of use to those who require regular access to the Directory, but who have limited (or no) access to the Internet.

The CD-ROM is available for a small annual subscription fee ($33.00 AUD, including $3.00 GST). Postage to locations outside Australia is extra.

Updates to the CD-ROM version of the ADCIS Directory are issued twice a year.

The ADCIS Directory on CD-ROM is built using InMagic DB/TextWorks, and is distributed with a "run-time" version of the software. It runs on Windows 95/98, NT4, 2000 and XP. Documentation on how to use the Directory is included on the CD-ROM as an Adobe Acrobat portable document file (pdf).

If you would like to find out more about the CD-ROM version of the ADCIS Directory or if you would like to subscribe to it, please e-mail us at subscriptions@adcis[REMOVE].org.au, or have a look at our Contact information section for other ways to contact us.
