Home and Community Care (HACC) Services

Home and Community Care (HACC) services are provided by a range ofdifferent organisations.
The types of services available include:
  • food services
  • transport assistance
  • home maintenance
  • home nursing
  • personal care
  • community options
  • information
  • advocacy, and
  • community respite care


Home and Community Care (HACC) Services around Tasmania


Home and Community Care services have a schedule of minimal Fees. People can use Vouchers to pay their HACC fees.


The Home and Community Care Program is jointly financed by Commonwealth and State Governments.

Veterans' Home Care

Veterans' Home Care (VHC)) is a program introduced by the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA). It provides a wide range of home care services designed to enable veterans and war widows/widowers to improve their health and well-being and remain living longer in their own homes.

Veterans' Home Care extends the range of care services provided by DVA to eligible members of the veteran community, which currently includes community nursing, in-home and residential respite care, allied health services, home modifications and transport for health care. The services include domestic assistance, personal care, home and garden maintenance and respite care.
